Working with adults, individuals as well as couples, embracing a positive psychology, approaching psychotherapy as a holistic, collaborative process.

Whether you’re looking for support or guidance through a particularly difficult time, or you’re needing relief from anxious suffering or emotional pain, or you're open to a significant change in your life and the direction you’re heading, together we can work to meet your goals-and achieve dreams!

My goal as a therapist is to find solutions that work for you on an individual basis, helping you to discover the true potential of your life, so every day can be a celebration, with potential for joy, and a feeling of deep satisfaction and reward in living. There may be no magic button or quick-fix solution when it comes to changing things from the past that have been painful or difficult, but what we can do is work together to find comfort and resolve in the difficult areas of your life, and the challenges you have to face. Through long-standing therapeutic approaches with proven results, we’ll be able to figure out what behaviors and/or thoughts might be holding you back from living your best life and from achieving the personal growth you seek, and finding meaning in everyday situations.

There is no ‘perfect person’ for this type of therapy. Anyone dealing with any type of behavioral or emotional issue, from depression to relationship distress, and everything in between, is welcome. You can rest assured that you will be in a comfortable, supportive, and encouraging environment, where the focus will be on you alone. There is no ‘cookie cutter’ approach here. Though I’m skilled in person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, existential-humanistic, and many other therapeutic approaches, I believe the quality of the therapist-client relationship is the essence of what makes good therapy effective, and I take great care to cultivate and nurture that relationship. I embrace a positive, holistic psychology and value inclusivity and diversity. I am LGBTQ-positive, culturally sensitive, and all ethnicities and religious world views are welcome. I genuinely care about my clients and treat them with warmth, compassion, and nonjudgmental acceptance.

Whatever obstacles and struggles one may be going through in life, I consider it a privilege to help my clients deal with them.

I understand that the clients I see are entrusting me to give them the right resources to guide them down a new path, with a new perspective, so they can achieve their own goals. With a healthy balance of listening, guiding, and learning, I take pride in using my own experience and resources to help people really start off on the right foot on that path. Whether you, or someone you know struggles with something like depression, or simply wants a different outlook on their life, it’s something to work through together, and by setting up a consultation, we can get started.

As a professional therapist, my role is to guide you as you take steps toward positive life changes, healing, and a healthy mind. Together we’ll work to unravel and better understand life’s challenges and day-to-day stressors that detract from your life and focus, correct maladaptive ways of thinking, and begin identifying and practicing new skills and behaviors that will make you stronger.

I am an experienced clinician with expertise providing therapy for depression and anxiety, addictive and compulsive behaviors, relationship/sexual problems (gay and straight), and life transitions including divorce, bereavement and retirement/career change. Informed by my personal life experiences, I find it deeply rewarding providing care for grieving clients, for those suffering from chronic or terminal illness and their caregivers, working with men from young adulthood to late maturity on issues unique to the place they are at in their lives, and helping men and women heal from psychic trauma or physical, emotional or sexual abuse.
